What sort of Dances?
The Fox Hat! regularly play music for
both English Barn dances and Scottish &
Irish Celtic Ceilidh's. This is
traditionally a social evening of dance,
music and occasionally songs. The event is
led by the caller who leads everybody
through the dances .
Who for?
These dances are fun and can be enjoyed
by anyone, of any age, ability or sex.
They are ideal for all kinds of social
events. No experience is necessary as our
caller explains everything you need to
know. An entertaining time for all is
guaranteed.
What sort of Music?
The musical repertoire of the band is
based mainly on Celtic dance tunes and
music. This is complemented by classics
from 1066 to 2005! The talented line-up
of skillful multi-instrumentalists play in
a wide range and variety of styles,
drawing influences from traditional
Celtic Roots and Folk Rock. The music is
fresh and exciting, with no two tunes
ever sounding the same.
Where?
The Fox Hat! have played for Ceilidh's in
Village Halls, Hotels and Marquees. Even
a public outdoor Ceilidh in a City Centre!
The Fox Hat! regularly perform for
wedding receptions and parties
throughout the UK. Our repertoire is
hugely diverse and will suit the tastes and
age of all your guests. Unlike a lot of
TYMAR (Take your money and run)
bands, our performance at your wedding
is tailored to suit YOUR requirements.
We are happy to provide anything from a
full cabaret style performance to a
traditional Celtic Ceilidh or even a
Barndance. If there's a special tune or
song you'd like for the first dance, the
band will be happy to perform it for you.
We work hand in hand with a disco or any
other performers at your function to
provide seamless, high quality
entertainment. As a matter of course we
liaise with your wedding co-ordinator to
ensure that both you and your guests will
remember your special day. We can even
provide high quality video footage of our
performance to add to your wedding
video. Your choice of background music
can also be played during breaks.
The Fox Hat! carry a 3K high
specification PA system and lighting rig
suitable for every venue. We are happy
for you to use our radio microphones for
your speeches and announcements during
the day. Our sound engineer is always on
hand to help you.
Weddings are often planned over a year
in advance and from your initial contact
with us through to the last dance, The Fox
Hat! will provide a truly professional
service.
